In anticipation of industry changes, market and product gaps, Principal Engineer Perry co-created IA 35 years ago, utilizing his previous 12-year career as a communications engineer for major technology giants. Perry has led every IA project for over three decades as the licensed Professional Engineer responsible for the firm's engineering department.

Appointed to the NJ Board of Professional Planners in 2004 and NJ Board of Professional Engineers in 2007, Perry has chaired the High-Technology Committee of the NJ Consulting Engineers Council, founded the Intelligent Buildings Institute, and been elected to the NY Academy of Science.  He is a rostered member of TASA, where he frequently serves as an expert witness on radio tower zoning and applications.

He was recently awarded the Alumni Service Award by the City College of New York, recognizing his service as Adjunct Professor, President of the Engineering School Alumni Society, and member of Advisory Board of Electrical Engineering Department and Dean's Advisory Committee.

He is a member of APCO (Association of Public Safety Communications Officers) and an invited member of IAPSC, an elite group establishing the highest industry standards for security professionals. He serves on IEEE Standards Committees for structured cable and WiFi/WiMAX technologies. He has taught engineering courses at Rutgers University and The City College of New York, where he recently served as President of the Grove School of Engineering Alumni Association.

He holds a Ph.D in Engineering and Telecommunications, and MS and BS in Electrical Engineering.
