IA provided consulting and design for Genesee County's new Dispatch Center to support landline and wireless E911 Phase II calls. The 800 MHz simulcast trunked radio system also required redesign. The County saved $2.3 million in microwave expenses by integrating with a point-to-point WiFi/WiMax broadband link to provide redundant links and alternative paths for control channels. IA designed the 1,500 SF, 8-position dispatch center with state-of-the-art video wall (four 100-inch monitors) that seamlessly incorporate voice, data and video; mapping systems; ergonomic furniture; secure network; and administrative communications integrated into the consoles. We also prepared the transition plan for a seamless move from the existing center, now used as a backup site, to the new center.
